here we go again on sampling....but what about mix cd's, like say for instance.......um the funky skunk mix.. should that be licensed?
No reason why it couldn't be licensed in the same way as any other legit mix CD is. Contact the master owners of each track, cut a deal, apply to Fox/MCPS/GEMA/whoever for a mechanical license, and you're good to go. At least, in theory anyway - it can often be a little more complicated than that.
