  • Checkerboard Lounge, huh?

Reminds me of the night Junior Wells cussed out a mostly white audience for showing up on the night of Muddy's funeral. Apparently, they didn't come to mourn Muddy...they came wondering if the Stones were gonna sit in. Hell, in a case like that I'm on Junior's side...

  • I was never that into the Stones, but one night when I was like 19 I was on mushrooms riding in my friend's car and "Under My Thumb" came on the stereo and I was just like "Oh, I see." I like a lot of their stuff to this day, but I probably listen to the Beatles more. And I listen to Beatles covers more than I listen to either of them. I need to see that Cocksucker Blues movie still. Has anyone here seen it?

That reminds me of the first time I did acid and heard Eddy Grant's "Electric Avenue," in the back seat of a Ford Escort, and in a whole new context. I never was the same.

Gimme Shelter is one of my favorite hippy music-docs.... It's now out as a Criterion release to boot.

Sticky Fingers - Just a great great record.

12x5 - These guys could really play rock and roll.

Beggars Banquette - This is the country one right? Or is Let It Bleed the country one?

Decembers Children - Get Off My Cloud, AS tears Go By

Big Hits High Tide And Green Grass - 19th Nervous Breakdown and some of the hits you've missed.

Some Girls - They sounded good in the 80s too.

You might want to pick up Hot Rocks to get some of the hits you missed with this list.

Don't you think if he wanted to know if he should get Stones or Beatles he would have asked that?

    Dan

Right now Beggars Banquette is my fav and Exile #2.

    Keith's book is worth reading.

Watched Gimme Shelter not too long ago. Stones also play a part in 20 Feet From Stardom and the Muscle Shoals movie.

    Bonus Beat Jamming With Edward.

Under $10.00, filled with breaks, good jam session stuff.
