Click here for Funk 45 New Orleans Auctions and Set Sale We are currently running auctions and set sale listings at the funk 45 board in aid of New Orleans artists whose lives have been greatly affected by the Hurricane. We understand that Eddie Bo, though safe and well, has lost his home and his restaurant. Many other artists such as Irma Thomas and Allen Touissant have fled the city to take refuge with friends and families after similarly losing their homes and belongings. Our community and the world of music in general owe these largely unsung legends a great debt of gratitude first and foremost and now that they have suffered great losses like so many other New Orleans residents we would like to take the oppurtunity to offer them something back if we can. So please check out the link and bid generously and / or contribute records that you wish to be auctioned for a really good cause.Click here for Funk 45 New Orleans Auctions and Set Sale The rules are simple and are posted in full on the site. All funds from the final sales will be sent to a dedicated paypal account and from there they will be re-directed directly to the artists in question. Depending on how much money is raised the cash will be divided between firstly Eddie, secondly Irma and possibly others if there are sufficient funds to make it worthwhile. Like the Soulstrut heatrock auctions you get to get a lovely new record and a lovely warm feeling inside that its all going to a good cause, and this way you even know the person that will benefit directly. There can't be many of us who haven't been touched or changed by the music of Eddie Bo. If we can give him even a small something back now that hes in trouble, its got to be worthwhile. Very gracious.
Indeed. Thank you to everyone at fryer for contributing.
PS: tried to put a link to the heatrocks on the vinyl vulture site but they took it down. I know it's not exactly kosher to have a link to auctions, but is there no love for the cause?
