    I spent my childhood hating the 808 cowbell sound so deeply - as a drummer it was just too far from real to accept. I grew up in the bay and heard that shit all day every day. Thanks Too $hort. But damn if that hasn't turned around now and I kinda miss hearing it (and the kick) coming out of every car driving by. I can now say at my advanced age that the kick was worth the cowbell price.
