I'm not at all deep on Rockabilly & rock'n'roll roots music in general, but have really been digging the variety of spooky, minor-key cuts that seem to pop up pretty frequently. I would love some recommendations along the lines of some of the things below.

Tawlmbout:
- Worldless choral vocals
- Jim Jarmusch soundtrack steez
- Hazlewood vibes
- Reverb to spare

A few examples:

Thanks in advance for the knowledge!

I spent quite a few weeks immersing myself in a hodge-podge of early rock (surf, garage, rockabilly) for my Route 66 trip.

Here are a few cuts you should peep on Youtube:

The Myddle Class - i happen to love you (Tomorrow)
    Switchblade - Ron Thompson
Don't Need Your Lovin' - Gonn
Bill Allen - PLEASE GIVE ME SOMETHING (CRAWL UP AND DIE)
Big Jay McNeely - Psycho Serenade
    Scorpion - The Carnations
    Bangalore - The Blazers
    Bombora - The Original Surfaris
Goofy Foot - The Lively Ones
Bobby Rutledge - Go Slow Fatso
    Spitfire - Bill Logsdon
Little Girl Gone - Mogen David & The Grapes of Wrath
Jungle Fever - Dick Dale & The DelTones
Mr. Custer Stomp - The Scouts
That's The Bag I'm In - The Fabs
    Primitive - The Groupies
    Squad Car - P.J. & Artie
Mr. Moto - Thom Starr & The Galaxies
Leave My House - The Modds
    The Challengers - Volcanic Action
    Contact - The Pyramids

  • Thanks a bunch for the recommendations everyone. Some great stuff in here.
