I finally unearthed this gem over the weekend and was as happy as a puppy with two weiners
but when I came home to enjoy this tasty platter I could not find no breaks wtf I say I mean its
got groovy elements but no drums on the one or for that matter on the two what gives, for years I have read that this
record was chock full of tasty breaks, what a let down I feel bamboozled I feel like I
feel when I come across a detroit spinners cover with no record wut up wit that aint no body
got time fo that anyway I think ebola is the new boogyman what yall think.....

    I am totally feeling you.
I recently picked up this one based just on the size of the afro.
I said with an afro like that this must be nothing but funky breaks!!!!!!
But when I got it home it was mellow Haywain Xian soul.
    Total rip off.
I wouldn't mind if I paid a dollar, but I had to shell out $5!
And all I got was some nice singing with acoustic guitar and congas.

If anyone knows a record with a bigger afro and fewer breaks please post it.

the afro-to-breaks ratio of his work extremely disappointing

People sweat3d it for a De La Soul sample.... Some wall of fame shit started by Soulman in 1996.

    Bob Dorough's the man, though.

  • "3 Is The Magic Number" is an excellent song and if there was a 45 it would be worth $$$

figure 8 is the saddest sounding song about a number I've ever heard.

The Squid and The Whale used it amazingly

i've always wondered how much inspiration this portion of multiplication rock took from windmills of the mind....

I bought an LP with a break and I sampled it.

Somehow I am still not famous and girls will not sleep with me even when I tell them I slang beatz.

I am a little dismayed to find that teenagers of today think that sort of stuff is mostly bad. I play classic hip hop and they tell me it's terrible. Then they put on some nonsense. Saddens me... I worry for the children.

That song straight up depressed me as a child. Beautiful none the less.

Blossom Dearie did not make a memorable song that would teach children math.

She did make a strange song, more concerned with the shape of 8, than the math.
When you mentioned Windmills of your Mind I thought no way, but listening...

Do you know how many times that clip is on Youtube? You should have punched that girl in the face.

    How's life?

  • Ahhhh man, there are a few good songs on here. The De La sample, the CMW sample and the Diamond D sample (number 4) from the Stunts, Blunts & HH album.

Not a holy grail but a fun listen especially if you have little kids. My daughter loves it.

I've never heard this album, but it just screams "Schoolhouse Rock ripoff."

  • ^^^
It's not the same, it's more teacher talking styles than musical songs. There are some semi-famous vocal samples on there though.

My son recently did a school dance number to an interpretation of The Magic Number, was cool watching the little ones get down to it!
