  • Just got back myself!

Highlights for me and wifey were

    Sapa
The town itself is very touristy, but it is beautiful. Pretty incredible trekking / day trips.

    Hanoi
Wandering around the old quarter, eating street food, etc (holler for food recs)

    Hoi An
Again, lots of tourists, but it was a really beautiful town with some very old architecture. Took a short motorbike trip that got us into the country side (again, holler for food recs)

    Phu Quoc Island
Beaches are not as beautiful as Thailand, but if you get away from the main tourist strip (Long Beach?) it is quiet and peaceful. If you are interested in going I have a good hotel rec.

Halong Bay was stunning, but impossible to do (as far as I could tell) without going on a very touristy cruise. If I were to do it again, I would probably skip it and spend more time in Sapa or Hoi An.

    Here are some pics:

    Hoi An:

    Sapa

    Phu Quoc (fish sauce factory)

    Halong Bay
