    Awesome!

[digression] Classical music hasn't always been as genteel as it is painted. Centuries ago conductors used to use a massive staff for beating time - this was thumped on the wooden floor, providing tempo for the orchestra. The conductors weren't just tapping this thing, they pounded the ground hard enough for one of these guys to stab himself straight through the foot - he died of the injury.

So maybe this vid isn't actually that far removed from the energy that the performers gave when 'classical' was contemporary music.

These guys came and did a workshop with my son's cello group - they did some great Hendrix covers

  • always enjoyed this, regardless of how annoying it may be when people try to pull stunts like this on the subway.
