I just saw this video for the very first time today as I was watching the Stax Records documentary. This video is so great for me in so many ways. First, it's a great Otis song, one of my all time top vocalists. Second I just love how the horn players from I believe the Mar-Keys are just grooving behind him. Finally this single was released in 1966 in a segregated Memphis and here are these white and black guys just getting down. It's symbolic of an America that didn't exist yet, but something that could be.

I know it's come and gone but goodness knows I listened to this side A LOT in the first few days of 2014.
46 years later, Stax and Otis and Carla helped ground me.
