Rest in Peace Bud Spangler

I want to send my sincerest condolences to one of the Strata Records, Inc. family members, Bud Spangler who passed away yesterday from lung Cancer. I had the unique pleasure to speak with him several times over the past few years and was very humbled by his spirit. In fact, I spoke to him a week and half ago and he told me that he had days left. He thanked me for my work and wanted me to send him Sam Sanders and Maulawi Orotunds releases.

He was not only the engineer for many of the Strata releases but he was also a member of the group Sphere along with Larry Nozero and Danny Spencer. He was such an important part of Detroit Jazz music and will forever be missed. Cheers to you brother! Rest in Peace!

    RIP - I got that Sphere record (via a strutter) last year and I've come back to it a few times since. Didn't realize he was involved.
