Atlanta - what??s good? Plus road trip to the coast

me and teh fam will be hittin Atlanta on Saturday for few days and then head down to the islands, I found a few record stores on the way, but don??t know if it??s any good what I found.
Any hints are very appreciated, on Food Shopping (also for my wife) and of course the locations of good records, preferable 45s that i don??t get in euroland.
I will report from the scene, and can provide recommendations for Savannah, the islands and Brunswick, since i??m writing a travel feature.
