So Mr. Cee just wrapped his second year of Friday mixes (Chuck Chillout, Clark Kent, DJ Scratch, Kid Capri). There's a recap with DL links here: http://33jones.com/blogentry.asp?EID=1409

Like last year, I found myself really enjoying these mixes. Now its not like these guys are dropping any super-secret heat, but sessions (and interviews) like these are a dope reminder why I got in the record/DJ game many years ago. Every once in awhile you need to just mash out to the Sound of the Police. And there's an energy here that has been missing from the game in recent years. Respect to Cee for getting all of these pioneers back on the air. And I love the WBLS plugs during Scratch's interview. The Hot 97 execs can't have been happy about that one.

Also,the thought of some kid flipping on Hot 97 around 12:30 and hearing the 24-Carat Black makes me smile. That's how the seeds get taught.

Anyone else been feeling these?

    Big fan of the Throwback at Noon and things DJ Mister Cee related. Thanks for the links as I didn't catch them all this past Feb.

    Once, I answered a Throwback Of The Day and got passes for one of those white parties on a boat cruise around the city. Shazam kinda ruined having that type of knowledge.

    Cee's hour that he did the day after Jam Master Jay died was one of the best hours of radio these ears ever heard, I try to find it every once in awhile on the interwebs but to no avail.

    I was misinformed about the above. There's going to be something released with 7 MCs rocking over Notorious B.I.G. instros sometime this afternoon on Hot 97 & BET. Meh.

    I remember listening to that. He was channeling something crazy and lit it the fuck up!
