I thought this thread was gonna be about slanging / recycling books. Anyway I will use it as an opportunity to do a little ISH-type thing.

The scarlet pimpernel -> the operetta Desert Song -> Batman.

I've been trying to think of other 'evolutions' Everly Brothers -> Simon and Garfunkel.

As for actually soul / funk / jazz books. I got me some old Goldmine issues and records. That's all.
