I'm going to be providing sounds for this little spot in Greenpoint Tuesday 11/27 from 7:30-11pm.
This will be my first night there. Never been but the menu sounds delicious, Italian.
I'm told the setup is just a "home stereo with 1 turntable" so it's not going to be a dance party so much as a casual listening session with great food and wine on tap.
I'll probably play some entire album sides and long jams instead of sweating the non-stop action.
I'm planning an "Afro-Brazil" theme for the sounds featuring artists such as: Arthu Verocai, Gal Costa, Milton Nascimento, Os Mutantes, Lo Borges, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Tom Ze and Elis Regina from Brazil -- alongside African artists such as: Orchestre Poly-Ryhthmo de Cotonou, MonoMono, Mahmoud Ahmed, Simigwa, Edzayawa, Joe Mensah, L???Orchestre Kanaga de Mopti, Honey & The Bees Band, Antoine Dougbe, and Super Djata Band.
