Gonna try to put together a mix for the Mix Off and i'm currently in between set ups.

Was running Acid Pro on a ten year old PC (please to commence the clowing here) that finally crapped out and am going to hopefully pick up a "deal" on a new MacBook Pro on CyberMonday.

What kind of quickie, cheapo software can i get to get me up and running to make a decent sounding mix right out of the gate with a new MacBook Pro?

I will be running two 1200's into a Rane mixer into the MacBookPro.

Any suggestions?

Please and thank you for your suggesions.

mrmatthew

Look for a used copy of Wavelab on your local CL.

dare i say it, a new macbook pro is staggering overkill just to record a mixtape, you'll only be able to use the 3.5mm line in anyway so the the computing power and software will be limited to that. A decent external soundcard would be a much greater consideration for 'the best possible sound'. Software wise Audacity is all you need and it's totally free.

If you pick up a new MBP you'll be loving life tho
