    Watched them on Later, they were stood round the piano with a terrifying selection of old man trainers on view.

    Mike Love also appears to be insisting on being lit like he's evil. It works for him.

    They thought they would continue to tour together after this ONE anniversary tour?
    Didnt their lawyers look at the options before they signed on for the reunion?

    If they were getting back together that would have been announced and arranged when they first started the album?

    That's a valid point, but I suspect the truth is probably more that, with Love owning the rights to the name, those guys were effectively hired hands. Now he's maximised the brand's earning potential for the 50th anniversary, like the quintessential hippy capitalist he is, he can go back to using cheaper, more compliant hired hands for the state fair/casino circuit, and keep more of the dough himself.

    Personally I wouldn't have gone to see them even if they brought Carl & Denny back from the dead.

    I think this is it pretty much. There was another article where Love made a comment to the affect they wouldn't get a long on tour or something. Pretty much want to be a Beach Boy dictator and not have anyone talk back to him. What a dick.

    I saw them in like 85 when I was a kid and he wore the hat back then. My Dad's company sponsored the concert and Dad met him back stage and told him I was a big fan so Mike gave my dad a hat to give to me. I wore that thing non stop for several years, glad I lost it.

    For Decades Mike Love has been proclaiming himself the LeadMostImportantMostTalentedMemberOfTheBB.

    The question I have is, has any rock star been as publicly manipulated and used as Brian Wilson?
    Diana Ross?
    Michael Jackson?
    Amy Winehouse?

    I don't think so.
