I actually have never met any Eskimos, but I would love to know more about Eskimo culture. As an ignorant inlander, I know very little- I've always believed that Eskimos were only found in Alaska, but is that even true? I have no idea. Is Alaska like always cold and icy in some parts, or does the all the snow melt in summertime? I'm pretty sure at least some parts of Alaska have seasons and hot summers like most places do, but again, I really have no idea. I want to know more, though!!! Wasn't it in Wax Po or some magazine where they talked about an Alaskan funk 45? What's the diggin' like in Alaska? Do people really live in igloos made out of ice or is this just some crazy stereotypical propaganda sh*t that the white man has been putting out there for centuries? ( please notice the grin, I am only playing, my white niggaz!) The big tennis racket shoes are DOPE, mang. Whale blubber is kinda cool too. Eskimos stand up and represent, represent! The coats are CRAZY.(My apologies if it at all appears that I am being insensitive to my Eskimo brothers... I'm having fun but I really do want to be schooled on stuff pertaining to Eskimo culture, of which I am so ignorant (obviously))

The first thing you need to know is...

Most dun like the word Eskimo... Many prefer Inuit.

I always liked that they kiss by rubbin their noses togther.

One of my best friends growing up was Inuit and his mom & dad always kissed that way when they were parting ways...

Okay, that's dope. Kinda like calling Indians "Native Americans" instead (which still don't sound right to me, but that's for another thread)? Inuits... I gotta remember that.

That's right, I forgot about that. That is the dopest shit EVAR. My mom used to do that to me too when I was a little boy. I like that a lot better than lip-to-lip action (ewwww).

My ex gf's Brazilian used to call me "you damn Eskimo" cuz she says I looked like a really tall Eskimo.
    That is all.
They prefer Inuit and Eskimo/Inuits are across the northern reaches of Canada, Alaska, and Greenland. People from Siberia look similar and have some similar language patterns, but call themselves something else.

i lived in fairbanks, AK from '91-'94. the summers were dope! it would stay light pretty much all night long. we'd be playing ball at 1 or 2 in the morning. if you live there you have to get a modification done to your car where they put an electric heater in your engine to prevent shit from freezing up. so you'd always have to plug that shit in when you drive during the winter.

alaska factoid: moose shit is the size of a peanut m&m. they just drop like 50 at a time. check it...

I used to live with a Mongolian young lady that used to work at a Starbucks and would bring me lots of leftover muffins to eat every morning and night.

Anyway - she said her family saw North American Inuits on TV once - and her family was sayin' "OH SHIT - THEY ARE US. WE ARE LOOKING AT US"

This shared Northerner kinship community is mighty instressting.

    That is all.

thats why i quit soulstrut for a minute , nao, just been busy. but i am more or less a native alaskan-been here twenty years. and the term 'eskimo' usually applies to the indigenous folks of upper alaska, canada. the inuit are one 'tribe' and there are several others which could be construed as eskimos. winters here are 8 months long typified by 14 hour daily darkness, ice fog, 40 degree below weather, and automobile malfunctions. summers are three months long and the sun doesnt go down until 2 or 3 am through most of the summer. theres about 20 days each for (breakup) or spring as yall lower 48ers call it, and about 20 days for autumn. digging fugging sucks up here, but i have pulled some shit over the years out of pawns and recieved collections from elders. pretty much an internet thing.

    the end

Better question - are there eskimo porn sites? Is this a niche that needs to be filled?
