Is anybody listening to this new Purity Ring album?
I dig it...nothing groundbreaking (girl singing over beats...trap beats in some cases), but still enjoyable. The lyrics are a little smh (goth lite) but they don't take away from the songs.
Was a fan of the trip pop of Ungirthed, had a quick listen through the album and was sadly coloured unimpressed.
Might give it another listen through but I think the moment I started relating it to Dubstar it had lost me for good. Possibly too sugary for my tastes.

It's OK, I suppose. I can imagine it growing on me somewhat. Some of the melodies are nice. I guess if Bj??rk made a record with Clams Casino (and she may well do before long), it might sound a little like this.
I'll save the "how come trap beats are OK when someone who sounds like Hope Sandoval's kid sister sings on them?" questions for a more appropriate thread.

The Bjork / Clams Casino nexus is pretty on-point, and I'm not mad at eaither of those artists, so maybe that's why I like it.

I was also going to say this, but couldn't be arsed finding the Icelandic O.

Also, don't kill me, but what is a trap beat?
