I couldn't get through the whole article but the writer has clearly never heard of him. He's not known for "controversial and explicitly sexual lyrics. He's know for saying:

There was a period a little while back where he was getting media attention for his extended and repeated concert monologues about the trials and tribulations of choking women during sex. Maybe that's what the writer had in mind.
