60's Library 78's Info Please

Found a small stack of these.....they sound cool at 45 but my 78 player is on the fritz.....are these desirable or chud?

    Hi Rock,

    Referencing my limited knowledge, 60s library is not very desirable versus 70s library--I think most folks would agree with that. However, Johnny Hawksworth and Nino Nardini (and to a lesser degree, Ole Jensen) are the artists on some of those records you posted, and they've recorded some amazing music, mainly from the 70s. 60s Chappell stuff tends to be kitschy department store music or forgettable loungey jazz/big band numbers.

    On the whole, library 78s are not a hot commodity. I would estimate a value of $10-$15 each, if that. But again, my knowledge is limited. And of course, it's possible that some of those records have some mind-blowing sounds on them that may make them desirable.
