in other words, records that if you don't have or haven't heard you should pick up for a buck or two on the strength.

i'll start off:

Every Steely Dan record
Every Sly Stone record before and including "Small Talk"
Every Joni Mitchell record
Herbie Hancock- Headhunters and Thrust
Ahmad Jamal - But Not for Me

Based on the recommendation of the 'strut, i actually did pick this record up in a dollar bin and it was in constant rotaion for about the 6 monthes last year. Had seen it more than a few times in the dollar bins over the years, too, so yeah, i'd consider it a Dollar Bin staple.

Id also recommend anyone wanting to check out some solid country/bluegrass cop this:

I also tend to see this out there alot

    Such a solid LP.

Definitely not super common $1 bin records in LA these days. haha

It's interesting how regional records are in regards to commonality and how the records you find are a reflection of the history and the community's demographics of an area.

Seriously, when is the last time you guys have regularly pulled clean copies of most of this shit in a dollar bin? I mean I definitely remember when most of these WERE $1 bin staples, but yeah, not really in the last 5 years.

On the reals, I used to find Lonnie Liston Smith records in dollar bins all day everyday like 10+ years ago. Also, there's braek on Barbara Streisand's The Divine Miss M PLEASE BELIEVE

Ha, I probably should have said I often see VG or worse copies of those records for under $3. I don't think I have ever found a clean fever tree for under $10.
