Portland sounds like Bristol or Brighton in the '90s. My friend said that during a visit to Brighton back then he went to a corner shop to buy some cigarettes, and there was a DJ spinning records.
Any Brighton Strutters able to corroborate this story?

In the bay area my friends and I were very guilty of this type of thing about 15 years ago. Don't think we ever did a corner store, but barber shop, tee-shirt shop, Macys, tattoo shop, Pizza Hut...etc. We would drag our shit out pretty much anywhere that had power.
email to 400 people, no BCC "Oh hi I'm spinning at that new sneaker store opening on Rivington tonight. It was written up on Flavorpill. Get back to me before 7pm if you don't know the password to get past the bouncer.
