It is hard to cover what he contributed to music. He formed The Techniques, was instrumental in bringing Jamaican music to Britain, ran the Techniques label where he produced some of the greatest dancehall to date - including the stalag rhythm.

The song list can go on forever.

He is responsible for some of my favourite, never-get-tired-of-hearing-it, play-at-my-wedding-and-funeral songs ever.

    Hard hard week for music.

    RIP

  • A man in his mid-60s, shot in the head. A goddamn shame on so many levels.

You're right, Bassie: it's almost impossible to overstate his impact on Jamaican music. A true legend.

    RIP.
