Hey folks,

If you're looking for a break from the latest beef thread, I just finished up a new Brazilian mix, but instead of obscure records from the 60s and 70s, this mix is comprised entirely of new music from Brazil or inspired by Brazil. As always, the tunes selected in this two part mix contain the beautiful grooves and infectious beats expected from Brazil across a variety of genres including bossa nova, samba, soul, rock, breakbeat, hip hop and more.

If you're traveling for the holidays, pop this in the iPod... 2 hours of non stop goodness! Happy holidays Soulstrut!

    Yeah, I never got it to work that time I asked you for help.

    They made some changes at Divshare, I think the embed code doesn't work the same anymore.

    Yeah, Divshare is blowing it. SoundCloud was sorted out... just had to remove the first track from Part 1. Let's see if this embed works...

    awesome, always keen to check your mixes out thanks! BTW soundcloud only scans the first 30 or so seconds of your mix, so if you want to put track 1 on, just put 30 seconds of silence or an intro

    Pretty good one... thanks for sharing. I could do without the extra long drum and bass intro, but once the vocals come in, it's real nice.

    Thanks man... so I did try that. First I just added a 15-20 second spoken word intro from Jorge Ben... same result. Then I tried a short scratch routine intro and got the same thing. Maybe they beefed that feature up a bit.

    Anthem status over here. Read an interview with these guys saying that it wasn't until this single was released in the UK, and crowds would sing along to the words, that they realised the language wasn't a problem and they felt confident to keep pushing their Brasilian sound without tailoring the music too much for the English market. Paved the way for the DJ Marky tune "Barcelona" (not as good imo, and did use English lyrics) which had regular daytime play on Radio 1 and was a chart hit. Patife also did a track called "Sambassim" that you might like:
