I have the album, and yes, they are worth getting into.
Maybe half the LP is a pseudo-jazz-rock kind of deal that I haven't really warmed up to (never got it with "Warm Spot"). But the rest of it is in that funk-bordering-on-rock vein that I'm a sucker for. Kinda similar to Sweet Apple, who also had an album on Columbia not long before Mother Night showed up.
