Just a heads up for the Scandinavian strutters.
SVT1 (Swedish TV) is showing the documentary "The Black Power Mixtape" tonight at 10 PM. Been doing the festival rounds this year, including the upcoming CPH:DOX festival here in Copenhagen.
Apparently lots of previously unseen footage of Stokely Carmichael, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Eldridge Cleaver, Bobby Seale, Huey P. Newton, Emile de Antonio and Angela Davis. Unearthed from the archives of Swedish Television where it has been undiscovered for 30 years.
Also includes appearences by ?uestlove, Erykah Badu and Talib Kweli, which I guess could be a turnoff for the kufi rapp hatteurs. Still, should be worth it for the footage.
