    I made it. Had to kill my dog and tell my kid no a lot. The rents are pretty ridiculous though. When I was unemployed my rent was < 500/month including bills, walking distance to downtown.

    I made it with about $48 remaining. I had to deprive my kid of a tutor and ice cream and buying his friend a gift at the expense of paying for a toothache and the electric bill. It's crazy that this is how many people are forced to make decisions regarding finances.

    I was doing seasonal labour on an overseas trip sharing a house with 4 Nepalese guys and the concept of Western poverty is laughable to them, one guy buys 600$ worth of groceries, the next guy will make this expense two months later...
