i find it interesting that even though these are lyrically upbeat tunes, a lot of them are still based around minor chords which actually sound slightly melancholy (including the korean tune at the top).

The contrast/tension between the upbeat lyrics and the use of minor keys is what makes them sound interesting, imho.
