On the real I know people might clown but I know Thurston Moore is a serious free jazz collector. He is playing my friends club @ the end of the month & didn't know if I should hit him up about buying some things from me. Does he dig or just do Ebay action-plus he is probably looking for crazy free jazz raers.

    He comes into my stores fairly regularly and usually buys something.

    I get the feeling there's not too many free jazz things he doesn't already have - he buys all kinds of stuff, however.

    Do you know him? If not, walking up to him and being like 'Yo, wanna buy some records?" would be an awkward conversation, imo.

    Honestly don't know him-my friend is the promoter/club owner-figured he maybe had some time during the day after a soundcheck & he would maybe hit up record spots here anyways-no biggie.

    thurston moore co-owns a record store in northhampton mass with byron coley. it's called feeding tube. I was there a couple weeks ago and i gotta say... it's pretty rad. you guessed it... a big ol' free jazz section that i'm guessing is stocked from thurstons own records. i only had a half hour to flip thru the bins but saw a ton of interesting things i would have loved to peep at the listening station they have set up. prices were across the board from "underpriced" to "the going rate". pulled a few nice things and left behind a few as well (ie: al johnson-peaceful, caroline peyton, etc.)
