    I have nowhere near your diverse knowledge of musical traditions, and virtually no formal education in music. In fact, I have lived much of my life in a kind of musical vacuum, with only spotty exposure to music beyond the mainstream. This is part of the nature of the environment in which I have lived for three and a half decades. The one helpful asset this has given me is a compensatory inventiveness in my approach to music that may contribute a degree of originality to my compositions and performances.
