My college roommate co-owns a management company, Whitesmith Entertainment, Inc. She is based in LA and manages comedy acts (including Margaret Cho). Her partner, Emily White, is based in New York and manages music acts (including Brendan Benson, Family of the Year, and Gold Motel). If anyone is in the New York area and interested in a 1-2 day/week internship on the music side, please contact them via e-mail or through their Facebook page. Unfortunately, the internship is unpaid, but could be a good way to supplement your experience if you are interested in learning more about artist management.
