Um, I don't know how to tell you this, but I really don't think your friend's track is going to go down very well on here.

I'm not in the mood to kick puppies today so will avoid all the easy targets but I will say that it if I didn't see the video I would have assumed that the track was a mid nineties French rap record, or someone rapping over an old DJ Cam instrumental. Also, it may just be me, but bits of the beat sound really sloppy, like the drums are not aligned. This last point could be more to do with the state of my brain this morning though. Sorry.

Its the drum part of the sample that comes in at the 2:19 mark (and refrains, then comes back at 2:24... again too at 3:13) underneath the main snare - it sounds like its lagging just a fraction behind, also making the hi hat samples out of step with each other.

This may be something he was intentionally going for, but rhythm-wise it feels kinda awkward on the ears.

Just an observation.
