What kind of midsize rolling bag would the strut recommend? i need something tough. my ttl/burton jam bit the dust, and it's not gonna be something i can fix.

Halliburton if you can afford it.

Other than that it's all kinda crappy.
Luggage has huge mark up, so you want to get 80-50% off list price.

If you are looking for luggage that you will check with the airlines, you want something as smooth as possible. All those straps and hooks will get caught on a conveyor belt or tug or something and the bag will get dragged.

i need something that can handle cobblestone streets, and a lot of airline/non-airline abuse

    Yep. Halliburton or Rimowa.

I have a Zero Halliburton 21" carry on. This and a backpack with a couple pairs of extra shoes in it is all I ever take anywhere! There are two kinds of luggage. Carry on and LOST.

if your luggage all looks like that, no wonder theft is such an issue. that shit says "steal me"

    I'll repeat:

If North Face has features you want go for it. But don't kid yourself into thinking that because it is a name brand with lots of straps it is better than a budget brand with pink flowers.

  • they sell heys luggage at costco now. dont pretend you're better than either of those two.

  • rimowa is GOOD!

Son, I NEVER check luggage. My Halliburton joint is carry on size. Never leaves my side.
