First saw this move as a teen on late-night TV and recorded it to VHS when it repeated at 6am. Probably watched it more than 20 times over the years (same story with Down By Law - late night TV, etc.).
(the song plays throughout the film - works every time)
5:40. remember bringing this up and hearing how many people have utter disdain for this song. we have nothing in common, and you have no soul
I can't find the Comsat Angels "I'm Falling" montage, but that shit rules.
And another -- straight CLASSIC....
I grew up literally down the block from Dupars, that Winchells, Casa Vega, all those spots, so I'm kind of biased to that one.
Could only find it in Italian on youtube.. but the part where the merengue music starts..damn.. that such a fucking crazy moment. When the dude says" hey man..turn it up I LOVE this song!"
didnt even watch this video right here..but yeah.
I don't quite understand the thread title, but I've said it before and I'll say it again - this is my favorite use of music in a film EVAR:
Caetano Veloso "Cucurrucucu Paloma" from Almodovar's "Hable Con Ella".
Visually and aurally, this scene is just perfect, beautiful.
I love the mesmerized audience (especially the ladies) and I think I know exactly how Marco feels.
File under: songs that make you teary-eyed.
Wonderful scene, Wong Kar Wai??s Happy Together makes beautiful use of this song as well:
Ok found the clip i wanted to add to the thread.
It's the intro from the movie Bullet (starring Mickey Rourke and Tupac).
First time i saw this back in dem days it blew my mind (@1:29).
