AA are a true fit, not really baggy, so if your looking for more comfortability and room go for a size larger than usual. If your looking for a more fitted look and your slim get the size you usually get when your buying t's.

exactly. i've printed a lot on american apparel shirts. the basic 2001 t-shirt will run about 1 size smaller than your average fruit of the loom / hanes / etc -- before it's washed. once washed, it will shrink a bit more. the 50/50 and tri-blend shirts are a little smaller than the 2001.
