Some dude has been blowing up my e-mail for the last few weeks looking for a scan of "Lluvia Con Nieve" on 45--on Alegre I assume. I have yet to respond. Been too busy. Anyone seen a copy? The catalog # should be in the 3090 to 3100 range. If it doesn't exist, Fania/Codigo needs to put it out on 45 with "Baila Mi Guaguanco" on the flip. I should have included that in my whitepaper.

Holla.

Rey: There's a release on MaG. I've never seen it on Alegre though. The 45 isn't that $$$ (except that the shipping is a bitch since most copies come from Peru)

    Copy for sale right now.

Never seen an OG Alegre 45, personally, nor have I heard of one existing. Wonder if it was an immediate hit, or if it got such a popular response years later during the mid-70s salsa craze?

Dimension Latina has a great version of this. Would like that one on 45.

Word - the arrangement of the OG is one of those that makes practically any cover super solid.

Here's a personal favorite by Carlos Pickling: http://soul-sides.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/02-Lluvia-Con-Nieve-El-Molestoso.mp3

FAT ass horns to kick it off and the organ adds an interesting element.

    Ha--it exists!

With "Pachanga Con Guaguanco" ("Baila Mi Guaguanco") on the flip!

  • Bobbito just posted this on Facebook:

"Another ill 7" I copped at Betino's Record Shop (http://www.betinos.com/) in Paris yesterday. Who recognizes the sample? Red Astaire out of Stockholm chopped it up and put Greg Nice vocals over it years ago on a super rare white label 12" like seven years ago. Will rock this at DJ Bobbito Garcia a.k.a. Kool Bob Love @ Camaradas el Barrio this upcoming Monday January 2nd too! Shout out to Soundway Records for reissuing it (http://www.soundwayrecords.com/catalogue/tequilla-7.html), have never seen the original "

Don't think I've ever heard that Greg Nice/Red Astaire GAMM remix. Anybody have an mp3 for me please?
