I've been kind of secret squirreling my hunt but it's really going nowhere right now.
So a couple years back a local dealer had an LP by a female soul artists from the early 70's (I believe it was 71) It was something I'd never seen before and he let me take a quick listen and the shit was incredible. When I asked how much he didn't even quote me a price, he just shook his head.
The details I remember about the LP are somewhat minimal, but I figured maybe the strut massive could help solve this mystery. Heres what I know
- Early 70's release date
- Private L.A. based label
- Produced by Monk Higgins
- Album cover was a shot of a womans face with an afro (presumably the singer)
any ideas as to what this album is?

this may be it, I remember looking at it online and wondering if it was Sundi records. I have an album on this label by a girl group that was produced by Lee Hazelwood. I assumed anything else on this label would have that same sunshine sound.
I found an online picture of this album on a label called 4BB, do you know the story on the label, is this a reissue thing?
Mercy?

Doh,
