What does this mean?

Is there going the be a re-ish of Racional I? or a relesase of Racional 3? Or what?

    Moogman will likely set us straight, but I'm pretty sure that this is about an unreleased vol 3. As you may know know, Racional 2 tanked big time and Tim Maia's career suffered as a result. Nobody would have touched a vol 3 at that point.

    I have a slightly later Racional non-Lp 7" that is much more in a disco-funk vein, I wonder if this is similar.

    This floated around on the internet a few years ago; supposedly some tapes were found from the same era as his Racional recordings of unreleased recordings that were dubbed as Racional Volume 3.

    I have tried many times to get the rights for Racional Vol.1 & 2 to reissue them. It'll likely never happen legally, which is a shame.

    DJMario already said all I know about this Racional 3.
    IIRC, these tracks are the leftover from Racional 2 recording sessions and Maia didn't like them at all.
    There are mp3s from some tracks in blogs, and they sound pretty weak, imo.

    both volumes of racional have been reissued legitimately no? on Trama records?

    There was also a separate remix cd

    No, only volume one was reissued in CD by Trama.
    There was some talk about reissuing volume 2 too, but it never happened.

    Do Leme ao Pontal (the track you posted above) isn't related to the Racional recordings.
    It even doesn't make any reference to Cultural Racional, as ALL the tracks in Racional 1 & 2 do.
    That track was released as a 7" by Seroma label, the same that released Racional.

    I just listened to the "Racional 3" tracks (the ones that are available on blogs).
    Actually, 3 of them are quite nice, in that Funk & Soul vein.
    The other 3 are Samba, and not that great, imo.

    Hey Brazilian Strutters..

    Since we've got your attention. I'll be in Brazil sometime in MARCH.

    I could really use some Travel advice, and people to meet and places to stay.
