I would stay at The Shangri-La, The InterContinental or The Four Seasons. The rack rate is way above $ 100.00 a night, but you might be able to find some sort of deals online. Good luck.

You after a decent place or just somewhere to crash at?

Theres plenty of backpacker joints around the Cross and Sydney CBD that are cheap.

Formule 1 are cheap and decent.

The Oxford Koala Hotel is affordable and close to everything...but its a 3 star.

I got a mate that rents out rooms to backpackers in a spot in Newtown....I can PM you his number if you want.

http://www.lotel.com.au/ ........has some deals on lastminute.com.au at the moment, boutique place right in between Darlinghurst and Kings Cross. We had friends there last week for under a hundred bucks and they were happy.

$150 should get you into some of the "8 Hotels" http://www.8hotels.com/our-hotels.html check them at lastminute.com.au, 4-5 star boutique joints centrally located. I've stayed in all of them, at the $150 end your room aint' gonna be huge but they are nice.

I'm heading up to Syd tomorrow for four days. Going to be checking some of the Sydney Fest shows. Always good!

in australia wotif is generally your best bet, i am in syd quite often for work and stay out in Parramatta which despite what I had been told I actually quite like, its a lot cheaper than the city and you can park on the street.
