The fresh sound of 1971! Saw them upstairs in a little pub in Brighton, and they took the roof off, good gig. Just the two of them then, the Thickfreakness sound, big drums & big riffs, nice. They did a great version of She Said by Beatles band, and also, this:
Auerbach: good on guitar playing. Bad on beard growing.
Musically, I love them. I go back every now and then, hoping I've progressed or I'll hear something new and/or that works for me...I really can't deal with the vocals.
Two piece bands always have to face the moment of truth when they have depleted their sonic possibilities and get a bass player to get to that next level.

Been a fan ever since.

Isota was cool because they had a 7" single club, where you paid a subscription fee and they'd send you new 45s. Nice woodblock pressed sleeves too.
Other great duos (who later got bass players).
