Marley Marl, Rick Rubin & The Bomb Squad are the obvious. Rep you favorite.

I always thought Hurby was underrated, besides the S&P stuff.
Kid & Play's first album still floors me.

Who else?

Still working on how to embed youtube video on here. One of my all time favorite producers The 45 King.

Wouldn't learn about Giant until I started record collecting in the late 90's

Yeah doesn't seem his name get's brought up enough when the other greats of this era. Caught one of those Fresh Fest shows over the summer with Special Ed and Chub Rock opening. Special Ed and Chub shouted him out several times through out there sets, was good to hear him getting credit from those fellas.

I loove that one too! I heard Howie Tee did the actual programming on UTFO "Roxanne Roxanne".

Also, I like the dynamics of this 1986 production:

It's good to see his name come up so often here--he deserves an appreciation thread all to himself. Dude was a real innovator and put down some incredible beats.

    King Of Chill

Tony D a.k.a. Harvey Wallbanger. Loved his production for YZ, PRT, and King Sun.
