She's an opponent of the Prop 8 gay marriage ban, marijuana prosecution and the death penalty. Not bad on the eyes on the either...just saying.

    That's a fascinating 1-2-3 combo with governor, lt. governor and attorney gen all being pretty left of center Democrats from the Bay Area. Of the batch, Newsome might have had the easiest run initially; his opposition was too closely linked to Arnold to be able to escape that stigma. Brown seemed iffy early on but not once the race hit its peak. I think Whitman went a long way to ether herself, which is saying a lot given that Brown didn't put up the greatest campaign either. I was very surprised at Harris' win and the fact that she squeaked by says how close it really was.

    Steve Cooley is an utter hack. Apologies to LA for having to continue to deal with him going forward.

    This was a great victory for CA, IMO>
