  • Yeah I've been using this app called "lose it!" to count calories for 4 weeks and I've lost 6 pounds so far.
The weird thing about the experiment in that article is that he was healthier in other aspects besides weight, after eating junk for months.

it's not surprising that he lost weight that way. He consumed less calories than his body needs for his basal metabolic rate.
But this diet must have been pure torture: Because of all the sweets, his meals consisted mainly of carbs and sugar. Both of them set free insulin in your blood, which makes you feel constantly hungry, even if you had eaten enough.
Astonishing, that he could bear this diet.

not only that -- but the fatigue from crashing nonstop plus the headaches?? this would be equivalent for being comatose, for me at least

  • Frankly, I don't think there's much to be learned from this, especially as there's no mention of his diet prior to this 'experiment'.

Also weight and cholesterol, while important, are hardly a complete measure of health. The dude cut down calories and lost weight, not much of a story.
