These were all taken by photographers of the Farm Security Administration in the 1930s and 40s. FSA sent photographers to document the plight of the rural farmer during the Great Depression and the progress of New Deal programs.
I have just spent 2 hrs looking at Alan's tings and they have been probably the best two hours I've spent on the internet since that thing with the Japanese schoolgirl and the bucket.
