They want it to be one way, but it's the other way.

You know what's not cool? a $300 record

  • The completed auctions list for these records are grueling. Dudes setting up $200 buy it nows (and not getting it) on records they paid $25/ea for.

They don't have sufficient Latin clout.

The CD/2LP coming out next year should cull it down to easy listenability for you. Getting through a grip of rancheros is admittedly, not a great listen. However, "Mozambique," "Stone Flower," and "Under The Sun Theme" are incredible listens. The tape archive has given us a bunch of unreleased material, and we're actually at a point now where we have more songs than can fit on one disc. This is one of those good problems.

The photos we got for this thing alone are worth the price of admission. In seven years we've never seen so much documentation, and it appears endless. Photos of the label owner unloading records from a van? Snaps of the first ever all-female salsa band (who sadly never recorded)? Check and check.

The saddest thing about these auctions is that these records aren't even rare anymore. I mean, we have the ENTIRE pressing of Justicia in our storage space. We've tried best to keep the opportunists at bay, but fuck it, if people can't look at the cheapest BIN's below... ain't our fault.
