Novelty synth reggae (Vulcans/ Colonel Elliot)

I found both LPs occasionally and for cheap and happen to like some of the tracks while most of them are really corny. I wonder if this was just a shortlife attempt to cash in on the moog-pop wave of the late sixties/early seventies. Any other examples known from that era?

    There was quite a bit of this. Sly and Robbie has some really good space synth dub stuff and Sugar Minott has really good stuff that is not so much spacey but more lo-fi, DYI drum machine synth reggae. I try to remember to look up some titles when i get home.
