So there's a waterfront grill kinda spot near my place, and tonight there happened to be a live reggae band playing there. They were finishing up, doing the band member introductions, and the horn section launched right into the line from spottieottiedopaliscious.The thing is, this is actually the 2nd time this summer I've seen a horn section play that song randomly.
Am I missing something? That song is an all-time favorite no doubt, but was it a hit, or even a single? It's not a sample right?
What I'm asking is, is a halfway-obscure outkast album cut basically becoming a standard? I'm pretty into that, if so..

I suspect dudes were just replaying "SpottiOttie." What did that album sell--three million copies? Not exactly obscure and clearly better known than the mysterious source of the supposed interpolation.
It is absolutely not a sample--I think the question was whether or not it was an interpolation, which I doubt.
