Is this the original pressing of the Skatalites - African Roots lp?

It says it was released in an anthology of reggae series, so I'm wondering if there is another, original, pressing to track down, because I don't find any info online...

Thanks in advance. (btw, if you have a copy for sale or trade, contact me.)

No, none of the material in that UA series was original to it. However, they're pretty solid pressings, and a good way to get the music inexpensively. African Roots was previously-released as The Legendary Skatalites on Jam Sounds:

A number of other Jam Sounds titles were also apparently licensed by UA.

I think the first press was earlier than 1978.
Edit - in response to the first post, not Faux's post.

By a few years. The Jam Sounds release is dated 1976. According to the liner notes to Motion's reissue from a few years back, the sessions took place in 1975, when Clive Hunt and Lloyd Brevett gathered the surviving Skatalites together.

Most of the titles in this series are mastered by Tom Moulton from the master tapes and sound better than the JA originals.

The Horace Andy album is a different mix altogether and has some different versions on it as well.
