Ableton users... APC? Yea or nay?

Anyone have one of these and if so how do you like it? I don't plan on playing live ableton sets with it. Just want something where I can make beats and once I'm done with dropping drums, samples, and vst's in the program, I can sit down and start recording sequences without being tied to the keyboard and mouse. Should I save a hundred or two more and get the mashine?

    From what I've read, a lot of people feel that the novation live launchpad + another midi controller is a better option than the Akai.

    i have an akai mpk49 and while i am happy with it, i do think i would have prefered a novation one. better software integration and easier to work with. if i would have bought one today i would have gotten the 49 SL MK 2. instead..
