I once read that waiters in Chicago called Scott 'No tippin Pippin'.
Supposedly NBA players in general are terrible tippers.
Paul Newman's a good tipper, as is Keith Richards, though in Richards' case, it might have just been that he was too wasted to attempt any math and just threw a wad of bills on the table.
People who have worked in the Service Industry usually tip well.
If I'm going to be at a club/bar for the night I always tip $20 on the first drink....it will be repaid to you over the course of the night and you'll get top notch service.
The tips our servers get at the bi-annual ARC dinners are usually 100% of the bill....so obviously record collectors/dealers are decent tippers.
Man i hate tipping. When i do have to tip i always go for 25-30% but mainly I try to avoid being in that situation. I know the service industry doesn't pay much but it feels like I'm supporting the owners keeping the service industry as wage slaves by continuing to tip. we need to pay better wages for these jobs and make tipping optional. Arrrrgh, fusk, I sound like a college socialist. Fight the power maaaaaaaaan!

So you think food in these establishments should be 15% more expensive? If the establishment is gonna pay these employees more than a couple bucks per hour, the all the prices will have to go up, right?
I argued with a European friend about this recently, because I actually like tipping. It gives you discretion to say whether the service was bad, good or great, and if there's no tipping, people have no reason to ever fill my water glass, ask how the food is, etc. I'm not looking for fake smiles and corny introductions, but it seem like the alternative is they take the order, drop the plate and later the check, and that's it. That's fine in certain situations, but I also like a "nice" meal sometimes, and I have no problem hooking up someone who did it right..
Btw, I used to wait tables, and if I had to, I'd guess Shawnald hasn't. I also hope with all my soul that I never have to do it again, and I think that's probably part of why I don't mind tipping..
People who have worked in the Service Industry usually tip well
Leonard Nimoy William Shatner Betty White Sean Paul Paul Wall
all the nba dudes I've dealt with = bad tippers. also bad taste. Mimosas (with Veuve) for dinner = really dude? My favorite is Hennessey & Pineapple??? WTF

I'm down for that. Nope never been a waiter. Also, I have an irrational disdain for tipping. There's no need to claim I'm unsympathetic to their plight.
My ex-lady used to work in the restaurant of a hotel that was about a block away from Mellon Arena, where most NHL teams would stay when they were in town. She said the Atlanta Thrashers were a lot of fun and tipped very well. She also had a video of the coach arguing with a hooker about coaching strategies on an old phone that, sadly, is no longer in existence.

yeah, I'm not baller enough to drop a $20 tip on one drink, but I definitely subscribe to this strategy in a crowded show/bar - tip a few bucks for the first beer, and watch the bartender skip over 20 people to serve you the next time up.

he earned this nickname in Portland too - he is pretty much a dickhead in general. On the other hand when Mo Cheeks was the coach in Portland he was known as a good tipper and one of the nicest guys you could wait on.
Gotta be honest and say I've never sat anyone more baller than a former Illinois Speaker of the House and a retired MLB dude whose name I didn't recognize. Soon to be college grad with two serving jobs, living the dream right here.
Not famous folks, but the COGIC people, when they have their convention in Memphis each year is dreaded by wait/hotel staff...they dont tip at all...1000's of these Jesus freaks invade the city, stuff a dozen people in a hotel room and bitch about not enough towels...eat out, take up a bunch of tables, send a bunch of food back and stay for hours and dont tip a dime. Notorious for being incredibly shitty people.

Google "christians bad tippers," and you'll get all kinds of stories about how horrendously cheap the after-church crowd is. Apparently they have a lousy rep all throughout the service industry.

Good tippers:
Bjorn Borg
Lenny McLean
George Lucas
Butch Vig
MCAdam Yauch
Sam Neill
Ben Harper
Nile Rodgers
Tis true, perhaps only because it rhymed.
See also: Double dippin' like Scottie Pippin. Yes, cringe worthy.
Peeople who eat out or frequent bars/clubs 4 or more nights a week are LESS good at being good tippers than people who don't do it that often.
feel free to disagree.

Weird Al is apparently a terrible tipper.
Not a good enough excuse for bad tipping.
You consider 25-30% a bad tip?

WTF is right! Talk about taking two streams of liquid gold and combining them to make troll piss.
Seeing a prospective main man be rude to servers, bar staff, etc. and/or be tight with a tip would be a deal-breaker.
this is a HUGE turnoff. i had a ex who was so condecending to waiters. i was always embarrased to eat out.
I hope everyone appreciates the amazing lady-like self-control I am showing here.
off the top of my head Antoine Walker was notorious as the best tipper in boston... like dropping a c-note for a 13 dollar valet charge...
vince carter is good, too...
what about rappers? juelz is cheap, fabolous is good...

Bad tippers are never forgotten.
